Today, after being interviewed by someone from civil affairs and a notary, our coordinator uttered the words, "Congratulations. You are now officially this child's parents." 'Nuff said.
The group picture includes the other adopting couple with their child Avery and the orphanage directors. Did you happen to notice the smile on our kid in that first picture? How 'bout the smile on his mama?

At last, a smile from Tru! I know it is only the first of many. I'm sure you and Bethany can't quit smiling. I know making it legal is important, but he has been your son ever since you saw his picture and learned that you could adopt him. Son #1 is doing great as are the rest of your "pets". Alex does say every night at bedtime: "I miss my mom and dad." But then, we all miss you and can't wait to have you home.
Another wow. Darling kid, happy parents, what else can you ask for? Miss ya - my flight gets into KCI at 6:20 on 15th btw.

I check this blog from time to time, say once every other month. I see the long awaited event has occurred. Congratulations to all of you on this exciting life change. Although we've never met beyond cyberspace,I have strong admiration for the many accomplishments you've made in the last 2 years - espceially debt riddance and now this. Way to go! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I find myself reliving my sisters recent adoptions from Haiti and Korea. Please remember that their adjustment is still ongoing. Ava has been here 7 months and Ayden 5 weeks. I promise you will see more smiles than you can count and a lot more crying as he figures everything out. He is absolutely gorgeous and Mom and Dads smiles say it all. Kristi Thacker
